Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur: A Fresh Staycation Experience
A Brand New Apartment Hotel Near KLCC
This week, I decided to check out two hotels that just opened their doors last month. The first one is an apartment hotel conveniently located near Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), officially opening on August 14th. I booked a 1 Bedroom Apartment through the Marriott Bonvoy app. My stay, which included breakfast for two, cost RM456.00 before an additional 8% tax.
Seamless Check-in and Swift Lifts
Arriving at the hotel around 2:45 PM, I proceeded straight to check in. The lobby, situated on the ground floor, has a refreshingly simple design. The entire check-in process was a breeze, taking only a few minutes. Armed with my room access card, I headed to the lifts. With five lifts available, waiting times were impressively short.
Spacious 1 Bedroom Apartment Layout
My 1 Bedroom Apartment spans a generous 699 square feet and is thoughtfully divided into three distinct areas. Upon entering, the well-equipped kitchen is on your right. It features an electric hob, sink, cooking utensils, a large refrigerator, a microwave, and a washing machine neatly tucked away in a dedicated space. The usual coffee and tea-making facilities are also provided.
Comfortable Living and Dining Spaces
Adjacent to the kitchen is a dining area with a table and four chairs. This leads into the living room, furnished with two sofas and a small coffee table. A 55-inch TV is mounted on the wall opposite the seating area, making it a truly spacious and comfortable spot to relax.
A Private Retreat: Bedroom and Ensuite
To the left, opposite the dining area, you'll find access to the bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom itself is quite large, featuring a king-sized bed. To the right of the bed is a sizable wardrobe containing clothes hangers, an iron, and an ironing board. Two bathrobes are also hung inside. Nearby, there's a safety deposit box and a weighing scale. On the left side of the bed, a compact work desk with a chair and a reading lamp is available for any work needs. Another 55-inch TV is mounted on the wall facing the foot of the bed.
Luxurious Ensuite Bathroom
Stepping out of the bedroom reveals a spacious ensuite bathroom. It includes a sink, toilet, and a generous shower area. The shower space is enclosed by entirely transparent glass and offers two different showerhead options. The hotel provides a complete set of toiletries.
Amenities for Relaxation and Fitness
The hotel's swimming pool is located on Level 7 and is an indoor facility. Both the main pool and the children's pool are quite large. A definite highlight is the pool's extended operating hours, open from 8 AM to 10 PM. Complementing the pool is a 24-hour gymnasium. A small Kids Club is also available on the same level. Breakfast is served on Level M, located above the pool area. While the breakfast spread wasn't extensive, the food I tried, especially the pengat pisang, was delicious.
Connectivity and Services
The complimentary in-room WiFi is fast, averaging 35mbps. Despite being in the KLCC area, cellular reception can be a bit spotty, likely due to the building's structure. Nearby hotels like Imperial Lexis and Wyndham Suites are adjacent and behind, respectively. My mobile data speeds were around 22mbps for Tune Talk and 18mbps for CelcomDigi. The hotel offers a good selection of TV channels, many in HD. I was particularly pleased with the water pressure in the bathroom. In-room dining is available, with prices being quite reasonable. For example, nasi goreng is RM45, and fruit juice is RM18. For those driving, ample free parking is provided for hotel guests.
Overall Impression and Strategic Location
I personally loved this hotel, not just for its prime location but also for the incredibly comfortable and new-feeling rooms. Its strategic position places it right between KLCC and Pavilion Bukit Bintang, with both attractions just about 900 meters away. You can easily walk to KLCC, enjoying the scenic Persiaran KLCC. This hotel is perfect for families with children, offering spacious rooms and a large kids' pool. The only minor inconvenience is the lack of a bidet in the toilet, with only a small spray from within the bowl. My first stay here was a memorable experience, and it has quickly become one of my favourite hotels.
