Staycation Mewah di The RuMa: Ulasan Bilik Deluxe & Pengalaman Terbaik di KLCC

The RuMa Hotel and Residences: A Staycation Gem in Kuala Lumpur

My Return to a Beloved KL Hotel

This week, my staycation journey brought me back to a hotel I first experienced in November 2020. If I had to pick a favorite hotel from all my staycations, this would be it! Nestled on Jalan Kia Peng, it's conveniently located near the vibrant Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). Using the Trip.com app, I booked a Deluxe room for RM437.34. This rate included taxes but thankfully, didn't force me into breakfast.

First Impressions: Style and Swift Check-in

Arriving at 12:40 PM, I headed straight to the hotel lobby. The RuMa boasts incredibly beautiful interior design, a standout feature for me. The lobby is spacious, housing a restaurant and the efficient check-in counter. The process was remarkably fast, with no deposit required. As my room was ready, I was promptly handed my access card.

The Deluxe Room: Space, Comfort, and Thoughtful Touches

The hotel has three swift elevators, and I was heading to the 14th floor. My Deluxe room, a generous 462 square feet, felt both spacious and supremely comfortable. The decor is stunning, with perfectly balanced lighting throughout. Upon entering, a cabinet to the right held a mini-fridge, coffee-making facilities, and complimentary drinks and snacks – a delightful surprise.

To the left of the entrance, a dedicated area for luggage and hanging clothes featured an iron and ironing board. Two plush bathrobes were also provided. A safe is neatly tucked away in a drawer here.

The sleeping area was dominated by a king-sized bed and a large sofa to its left. A beautifully shaped oval wooden table sat at the end of the sofa, complete with a desk lamp and a comfortable chair for any work that needed doing. A 40-inch TV was mounted on the wall opposite the workspace.

A Luxurious Bathroom Experience

The bathroom door, opposite the foot of the bed, is a large sliding design but notably, it doesn't lock. The bathroom itself is expansive, divided into three distinct zones. In the center, two elegant round sinks grace the vanity. To the right is the toilet area, and to the left, the shower space. The toilet area includes a bidet pipe for added convenience. The shower area is a true indulgence, featuring both handheld and rainfall showerheads, along with a large bathtub.

Poolside Views and Pampering Options

The hotel's swimming pool is located on the 6th floor and is quite sizable, open until 9 PM. Adjacent to the pool is a chic bar named 'Santai'. From the poolside, guests are treated to glimpses of the Petronas Twin Towers. On the same level, you'll find a spa and a hair salon, with services priced at RM480 for the spa and RM150 for a haircut.

Connectivity and Comforts

The complimentary Wi-Fi here is blazing fast, hitting an impressive 455mbps download and 459mbps upload speeds. Even mobile data speeds are excellent, with CelcomDigi at 420mbps and Tune Talk at 271mbps. The hotel offers a wide array of free TV channels, many in crisp HD. The water pressure in the bathroom was also fantastic; I particularly enjoyed the spacious shower.

Dining Delights and City Access

Breakfast is served at the restaurant on Level M. While the breakfast selection isn't overwhelmingly extensive, the dishes I tried were absolutely delicious. For those not opting for breakfast, it can be purchased at the hotel for RM98 per person. In-room dining is also available, though prices are on the higher side; Nasi Goreng Kampung, for instance, is RM68. For guests with vehicles, complimentary parking is provided.

A Strategic Location with Minor Drawbacks

Personally, I adore staying at The RuMa, despite its premium pricing, which usually hovers around RM600 but can drop below RM500 during promotions. As mentioned, it remains my top hotel choice. Beyond the stunning interiors and the exceptionally friendly staff, the location is incredibly strategic, perfectly positioned between KLCC and Bukit Bintang. You can easily walk to both KLCC and Pavilion. Pavilion is a mere 550 meters away, and KLCC is about an 11-minute walk (750 meters). Public transport is also readily accessible, with KLCC LRT Station (800 meters) and Persiaran KLCC MRT Station (850 meters) nearby.

My only minor quibble is the room's soundproofing. Walking down the hotel corridor, I could quite clearly hear conversations from within the rooms, which is a slight detraction from an otherwise perfect stay.

As always, I've included photos of the hotel for you to enjoy. I took quite a few, as there are so many beautiful corners to capture.
