From Paris to Reims for a Day Trip: A City in Transition
A delightful day trip from Paris led me to Reims, a city I hadn't visited in 15 years. What struck me immediately was the transformation underway. The streets, once familiar, are now bustling with construction, a clear sign of a city evolving and beautifying itself.
Reims: A Journey Through History and Art
My exploration of Reims was a deep dive into its rich heritage. I made my way to the magnificent Reims Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site that never fails to inspire awe. From there, I ventured to the Abbey of Saint-Remi, another historical gem offering a glimpse into the past. The iconic curves of Veuve Clicquot and Pommery champagne houses beckoned, a testament to the region's world-renowned bubbly. A particularly moving experience was visiting the Fujita Chapel, a serene space adorned with vibrant frescoes.
The day was undeniably a long one, clocking in close to 30,000 steps! The heat was a significant factor, making it a truly warm day of discovery.
A Note on the Weather
Today in Paris, the heat is something to prepare for. Please take good care of yourselves amidst the warm weather.
