A Suspiciously Stiff Lock on My Emirates Business Class Journey
I recently had the chance to fly Emirates Business Class. Upon landing, my mother, who was travelling with me, commented that her suitcase felt a bit harder to open than usual. Honestly, we brushed it off at the time, thinking nothing of it.
The Unsettling Discovery: A Compromised Lock
Later, back at home, she took a closer look at her lock, comparing it to another piece of luggage from the same brand. That's when she noticed something was distinctly off. The lock hole appeared different, as if it had been tampered with multiple times on the sides. She sent me a photo, and that's when I decided to check my own luggage.
My Lock Was Completely Compromised
To my absolute shock, my own lock was no longer functional. It didn't matter what code I entered; it would open with any number. It was clear the lock had been compromised entirely.
A Plea to Fellow Emirates Passengers
We're in the process of contacting Emirates to report this incident. In the meantime, I strongly urge anyone who has flown with Emirates recently to take a moment and thoroughly check their luggage locks.
