Still trying to hit my 20-night target before December 31st, thanks to the 25% off Hilton hotels offer! This week, it was time for a stay at Hilton Petaling Jaya.
Check-in Experience
Arrived around 1 pm. My room wasn't quite ready yet, so I was invited to wait in the Executive Lounge on the 21st floor.
A Heads-Up on the Elevators
They're currently installing new elevators, so be prepared for a slightly longer wait than usual.
The Executive Lounge
The Executive Lounge is open from 6 am to 10 pm. Breakfast is served from 6:30 am to 10:30 am (Monday-Friday) and until 11 am on weekends (Saturday/Sunday). Evening cocktails are from 6-8 pm. Outside of these hours, there's a selection of pastries, tea, coffee, soft drinks, and chilled juice available.
My Room
The room felt modern and bright, especially after the hotel's renovation last year. The King Premium Executive room comes with a Nespresso machine and 4 coffee pods, which are topped up during turndown service.
Evening Cocktail
There was a nice selection of hot food, including mee goreng mamak, tandoori chicken, spring rolls, kuih udang, chicken and leek pie, and yummy desserts like pengat pisang and various local kuih. This stay felt more organized than my stay last year, where the evening cocktail service was a bit hectic.
Breakfast at Paya Serai
As always, breakfast at Paya Serai was amazing! There's a huge variety of food, with some unique Malaysian dishes like boiled sweet potatoes, nasi dagang with ikan tongkol, soto ayam, and sayur lodeh. Don't forget the nasi lemak with all the sides, like ayam goreng rempah, rendang ayam, and sambal sotong. Kids will love the ice cream and chocolate fountain!
Executive Lounge Breakfast
For breakfast in the Executive Lounge, there are more premium choices like smoked salmon.
Late Checkout
Unfortunately, because of high occupancy, I wasn't able to get a late checkout this time.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this stay was much better than my stay last year. Thanks for reading, and I'll see you in the next edition, maybe from another Hilton or perhaps Le Meridien Putrajaya!
Hilton Gold Status
For those asking how to get Hilton Gold status:
- Stay 20 times or 40 nights at hotels under the Hilton brand.
- If you have elite status from Accor, IHG, Hyatt, or Marriott, you can try a status match!
