Halong Bay Cruise: Memorable Sea Scenery & Boat Stay
Location Spotlight: Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
Getting there is easy! Just hop on a bus from Hanoi straight to the pier and you're ready to board your cruise!
An Unforgettable Halong Bay Experience
I recently experienced a two-day, one-night boat tour in stunning Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. From the moment I stepped on board, the vibe was amazing! I was greeted with a welcome drink and quickly checked into my cabin. The room was clean and featured a huge sea view window – perfect for chilling out and taking in the breath-taking views!
Day 1: Cruising Through a Limestone Paradise
- The cruise took us through spectacular limestone karsts and rivers, which looked like something straight out of Avatar!
- In the afternoon, we stopped at Titov Island and hiked to the top for a panoramic view. The climb was a little tiring but the view was absolutely worth it!
- Dinner on board was a real treat. The quality exceeded my expectations, with plenty of fresh seafood and succulent steak. Afterwards, I tried my luck at squid fishing and enjoyed a relaxing drink at the rooftop bar.
Day 2: Exploring Caves & Serene Waters
- I attempted to join the Tai Chi class at 6:30 am, but I ended up oversleeping (oops!).
- After a delicious breakfast, we explored Luon Cave by boat. The water was crystal clear, and the surroundings were incredibly peaceful. All I could hear was the gentle sound of the paddle and birds chirping – so therapeutic!
- After brunch, it was time to head back to shore. I could have easily stayed on that boat forever!
Handy Tips for Your Halong Bay Cruise
- Don't forget to pack slippers, a swimsuit, and sunscreen! Although the ship has most things covered, the sun can be intense.
- Bringing a few snacks and mosquito repellent is always a good idea.
- If you are prone to seasickness, pack some motion sickness medicine. Luckily, I didn't need any!
- Wi-Fi is available, but it can be a bit patchy. I recommend switching off your phone and simply enjoying the incredible scenery.
Must-Capture Photo Spots
- The summit observation deck on Titov Island.
- The bow of the ship during sunset or sunrise.
- Reflections in the water while you're on the smaller boat touring Luon Cave. The water is so clear you can get cool shots of the scenery.
