Shanghai Postal Museum: A Hidden Gem
The Shanghai Postal Museum is located within the grand Shanghai Post Office Building, a historic landmark dating back to 1924. During my exploration of the city's best photo spots, I made a return trip here. This time, I finally ventured up to the second floor to discover the captivating story of the postal service's evolution.
Exploring the History of Mail
The second floor houses four distinct exhibition halls. These halls beautifully illustrate the historical journey of postal services in both ancient and modern China, as well as internationally. It's an experience for all ages! The interactive displays allow visitors, especially the young ones, to try their hand at letter writing and even simulate the exciting role of a delivery person at the post office.
Things to Note Before You Visit
- Good news! Admission is absolutely free.
- If possible, bring along a notebook. The second floor has several adorable stamp designs you can collect.
- For a more peaceful experience, consider visiting in the morning. Aim for around 7-9 am to avoid the crowds.
I hope you enjoy your trip to the Shanghai Postal Museum!
