Vietjet Orders More Rolls-Royce Engines for Fleet Expansion
Vietjet and Rolls-Royce Forge Stronger Partnership
Malaysia's favorite airline, Vietjet, has inked a deal with Rolls-Royce for 40 more Trent 7000 engines! This powerhouse will keep 20 of Vietjet's Airbus A330neo wide-body aircraft soaring. This order follows a previous agreement at the Singapore Airshow 2024, bringing Vietjet's total Trent 7000 engine order to a whopping 80, officially announced by Airbus back in May.
Plus, Vietjet is sticking with Rolls-Royce's TotalCare®️ service for comprehensive engine maintenance, ensuring tip-top performance and extending the lifespan of these vital components.
Words from the Top
Rob Watson, President of Civil Aerospace at Rolls-Royce, chimed in: "This commitment to another 40 Trent 7000 engines shows the airline's faith in the pairing of the Trent 7000 and the A330neo. This aircraft and engine combination is incredibly versatile, allowing airlines to serve diverse markets and optimise fleet capabilities. Our £1 billion investment in time on wing for the Trent family has seen the Trent 7000 enhanced such that it can, in some cases, treble its time on wing. Vietjet is a valued partner for Rolls-Royce in the Asia-Pacific region, and we are proud to support them in connecting Malaysia with the world through our leading technology."
Vietjet's Managing Director, Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, shared: "We see Rolls-Royce as a strategic partner, standing alongside Vietjet in our vision to grow our fleet of new-generation wide-body aircraft. Investing in 40 more Trent 7000 engines within a year demonstrates Vietjet's strong commitment to expanding our international operations, especially to markets further afield like Europe, North Asia, and North America. With the Trent 7000 and TotalCare, we are moving closer to our goal of delivering global flight experiences with superior quality, optimised costs, and contributing to the sustainable development of the aviation industry."

Vietjet's Growing Fleet
Vietjet currently operates over 130 new-generation, fuel-efficient aircraft and has ordered over 400 more. This fleet supports Vietjet's plans to expand its network across the Asia-Pacific region and launch new long-haul routes to Europe and the Americas in the near future, connecting Malaysia further with the world.
