Ulasan Hotel Faber Park Singapore: Penginapan Selesa Berdekatan Sentosa & VivoCity

Hotel Faber Park Singapore – My Personal Experience

Last year, I went to Singapore to see the dolphins in Sentosa and explore the Science Centre. I chose Hotel Faber because it was conveniently located between these two spots. The hotel seemed fairly new, and there were mostly international guests – mostly from Europe and China, I noticed not many Malaysians when I was there.

🌟 The Good Stuff

  1. Super Convenient Location: Really close to VivoCity and Sentosa Island. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, just one stop away from VivoCity. It's also a short walk to the Telok Blangah MRT station and the bus terminal.

The bus is probably the easiest way to get around!

  2. Breakfast Spread Was Awesome: Lots of variety! Plenty of Western options like bread, salad, mashed potatoes, cheese, and sausages. Plus, common local dishes mixed with international flavours, like corn soup, congee with salted eggs, omelettes, fries, pancakes with honey, fried noodles, mushroom gravy, and steamed veggies. And of course, all those unique local condiments.

It was great to load up on veggies at breakfast since it's hard to get much when you eat out; usually, it's just two sad cucumber slices for the whole meal!

For drinks, you can even make your own milk tea with Tieguanyin tea. They also had cucumber and lemon detox water.

  3. Smart Room Design: The rooms are on the smaller side but well-designed. Separate toilet area. The sink is outside the bathroom, which makes it feel more spacious and practical.

  4. Excellent Drainage: Good drainage, ventilation, and dehumidifying system, so the floor in the room and bathroom are level. If any water spills, it dries up quickly overnight.

  5. Universal Power Sockets: The power sockets work with both two-pin and three-pin plugs. The bedside lamp is compact and stylish but bright enough to read by.

  6. Balcony with a Relaxing View: The balcony overlooked a residential area with greenery and a road in the distance – very relaxing. I booked two rooms, one for a family of three (with a 4-year-old) and another for two people. I'm usually a light sleeper, but I slept like a log here! 🤣 Even though it's near the road, it's surprisingly quiet; you rarely hear car horns.

Because I have a Level 2 membership on BOOKING, I got a free upgrade to a Deluxe Double Room with a balcony on the 6th floor. However, only one room was upgraded, so the other was a Superior Twin Room.

  7. Swimming Pool on the 6th Floor: Having a balcony room on the same floor as the pool was convenient. The pool overlooks a beautiful building, almost like the Bitexco Tower 🤣. However, the pool area is quite small, with only two sun loungers, and there's NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. I swam there most of the morning and didn't see anyone, so families with kids should be extra careful.

⛈ The Not-So-Good Stuff

  1. A Bit Far From the City Centre:

  2. Glass Door Problem: The glass door gets really hot from the sun, so the aircon has to be on full blast to keep the room cool. The good thing is, anything you hang out to dry dries super quickly! This was only in the room on the 6th floor; the rooms on the 5th floor weren't as hot.

  3. Lacking Amenities: It's a 4-star hotel but doesn't provide things like cotton pads, cotton buds for drying ears after swimming, or a razor ("stingier" than the amenities at Village Bugis! 😆)

  4. Card Key Issue: The reception only gave one key card per room upon check-in. I had to ask for another one, and they reluctantly gave it to me with a lame excuse that THEY HAD MANY GUESTS AND SOME PEOPLE DIDN'T RETURN THE KEY CARD WHEN THEY CHECKED OUT. This reason isn't acceptable for other guests. If two people are staying in one room and only have one card to use the stairs, how are they supposed to go to the pool when the card is needed for room access?

  5. Customer Service Varies: Some of the staff at the Front Office and the F&B weren't very friendly, but the Housekeeping team was always smiling and helpful.

💸 I booked for three nights in July, and it cost around RM3,500 per room.
