My Paris Trip: A Malaysian Perspective
Hai everyone! I've been following your posts with great interest. Terima kasih banyak! Just got back to Kyoto, Japan after a week in Paris and Dijon.
Rising Prices and Going Cashless
Like many of you have mentioned, the cost of living in Paris is definitely up there. I also noticed how much more cashless things have become. Topping up an "un carnet" (10-ride metro ticket) now costs around 25 euros! Makes things a little tougher, lah.
Paris: A Safe City?
This was my seventh time visiting Paris. I've always felt Paris is a pretty safe city compared to other European and American cities. You rarely see people causing trouble on the metro – it's usually quite chill.
Comparing to Rome
I once got pickpocketed by a group of kids on the Rome metro. It was super crowded and chaotic. This time, I paid extra attention to the Paris Metro. I barely saw any kids, even with their families. A group of girls like I saw in Rome would have really stood out. I was careful with my belongings, but never felt unsafe.
RER B Line: Airport Transfer
The RER B line (CDG Airport to Gare du Nord or Châtelet) was the same. Most people arriving at the airport seemed to head straight for the RER station. It's cheap and fast, of course! I used it both ways (pictures attached!) and felt completely safe.
Looking Forward to Future Visits
I'm already looking forward to my next Paris adventure! I hope more of you get to experience the magic of Paris too.
