The Most Beautiful Suspension Bridge in Taiwan? Let's Go To Shuiyuan Rainbow Suspension Bridge!
This bridge, sometimes called the Shuanglong Rainbow Bridge (that's Song Long Rainbow Bridge in our lingo!), gets its name from the two waterfalls at its end – imagine two dragons taking flight! It's Taiwan's longest, highest, and deepest suspension bridge.
Getting There: A Little Adventure from Taichung
Okay, so it's a bit tucked away, but totally doable. Here's how you can get your Malaysian self there from Taichung:
By Car (Self-Drive):
From the heart of Taichung, drive along National Highway 3 or 6 towards Shuili. Then, continue towards Xinyi Township. Think around 2.5 to 3 hours driving time.
By Public Bus:
From Gancheng Bus Station or Taichung Station, hop on the Nantou Bus 6670 to Shuili. At Shuili, switch to the local bus route 6871 heading towards Shuanglong Station.
From there, you can walk or grab a local taxi to the bridge entrance. This bus journey takes roughly 3.5 to 4 hours (round trip), making it a perfect day trip if you start early.
Why You Should Visit
The Shuiyuan Suspension Bridge is a truly stunning destination that's still a bit of a hidden gem – well worth exploring!
