My Hong Kong Trip in April: A Malaysian's Experience
Hello everyone! I'm excited to share my recent Hong Kong adventure from April. It was a DIY trip, planned with tips from online groups and, yep, ChatGPT! Bought all sorts of tickets on Klook, got my SIM card from Hongkongbenhong, and even borrowed two Octopus cards – so convenient! 🫶🏼
Getting There:
- Flying In: Vietjet (thankfully, no delays! 😌)
- Flying Out: Vietnam Airlines ✈️
Where We Stayed:
- First 2 nights: Kimberly Hotel
- Last 3 nights: Best Western Plus. Super convenient, right in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui! Everything was within walking distance.
Food, Glorious Food!
We went all out trying Hong Kong's most famous dishes:
- Mak's Noodles (Wonton Mee)
- Yat Lok Roast Goose
- Bakehouse Egg Tarts
- Kam Wah Cafe Milk Tea
- Chung So Dessert (Tau Foo Fah), Tim Ho Wan...
- 💛 And of course, we popped into local eateries whenever we could!
Getting Around:
- From the airport to the hotel: bus!
- Everything else: walking + MRT + the adorable "ding ding" trams.
Detailed Itinerary:
🧡 Day 1:
- Peak Tram – SkyTerrace 428 for panoramic views
- Monster Building check-in
- Ding Ding tram ride
- Stroll through Kennedy Town
💙 Day 2:
- Disneyland (went at 11 am but still managed to ride all 8 DPA rides – super quick!)
- Scored a prime spot for the fireworks – front row! 😎
- Remember to buy tickets + DPA on Klook for ease!
💚 Day 3:
- Cable car to Ngong Ping
- Big Buddha, Monastery visit
- Afternoon stroll at Victoria Harbour to admire the skyline
- Evening at Temple Street Night Market
💜 Day 4:
- Wong Tai Sin Temple for good fortune
- Couture Museum check-in
- Yau Ma Tei Police Station (a little rainy, so a leisurely visit)
💛 Day 5:
- Avenue of Stars for some final photos!
- Then off to the airport, ending the trip on a high note 💼
As it was my first time, we tried to cram in as many popular spots as possible. If I ever return to Hong Kong, I'll definitely spend more time at the places I truly loved this time around.
Thanks, everyone! Feel free to message me if you need any tips. Happy to share! 🥰🥰🥰
