My Cuti-cuti Europe: April-May Trip Review
Paris, Paris...
Paris lah! So crowded! The traffic is worse than KL some days, everyone for themselves. You gotta be careful!
The architecture? Okay lah, beautiful only in the centre. Outside that, a bit messy and dirty. City of Lights? More lights in Malaysia during Deepavali ma!
But I really liked the street cafes. So European, so special. The tables are so close together, like next to each other. Very lepak style!
Customer Service? Takde!
European service? Don't expect "customer is king" okay? Different culture, lah.
Belgium, My Friend!
Belgium is small but famous! Manneken Pis! That little boy who peed on a bomb fuse and saved Brussels! Legend, kan?
Weather Kejap Panas, Kejap Sejuk
Late April, early May, the weather changes like crazy. 12-28 degrees in one day! Hot sun, burning wey! Still, wear long sleeves lah. Keeps you warm in the morning and protects you from the sun.
Paris has so many horse chestnut trees, with those pretty pink flowers. Very Instagrammable!
Sunset is after 9 pm these days. Long days for sightseeing!
Makan, Makan, Makan!
Breakfast in Paris, lunch in Belgium, dinner in Holland! One day, three countries! In Europe, can one meh!
In Holland, they have houses built under the water. Imagine that!
European food is so basic. Salt and pepper. That's it. So plain, lah!
Holland is the city of dams! Amsterdam is a dam on the Amster River, Rotterdam on the Rotter River.
Belgium, Holland, and Germany have "red light districts" where it's legal. Just saying!
Rotterdam has the biggest port in Europe. So busy!
Germany has so many forests. They protect their trees and animals. Good for them!
Security Worries
After 15 years, I went back to Germany. The security situation is not as good as before. A bit worrying, sia.
Be careful when you travel in Europe. Watch out for pickpockets. Someone in my group lost their stuff.
At this time of year, the mustard fields (yellow mustard) are full of flowers. So beautiful when you drive by.
European 4-star hotels are small, not many services like in Malaysia.
The sky in Europe is always so high and blue. Cleaner than back home! :)))
My Europe tour was a whirlwind, but I still want to go back!
The air quality is so good, cars don't get dirty easily.
After a big rain, cars are still clean, no black mud. Amazing!
Foxes and rabbits running across the road! It's true!
Switzerland, Simply Stunning
The beauty of Switzerland can't be captured in any picture. Seriously!
The water in the Swiss lakes comes from the melting snow in the mountains.
Swiss people value loyalty. Good values!
The Burn clock tower has been there since the 13th century and the engine is well-maintained.
Shops in Switzerland close at 5 pm. Earlier than many other European countries. Early bird catches the worm!
Everywhere got traffic jam, don't complain about Malaysia only!
Titlis in early May is fun. First stage, no snow. But stage three, 3020m up, we saw late-season snow!
My long-lasting impression of Germany, even now is the sidewalks got so many dog "mines" 😂. Watch where you step!
You can get a tax refund at the shop when you buy a watch in Switzerland.
On a European tour, you travel a lot by bus and walk a lot. One day, I walked more than 13km! Wear comfortable, soft sports shoes!
Split your money into different places. Safer and less risk of losing everything. Don't bring valuable items when you travel.
Just a few small tips. I hope everyone going to Europe has fun, gets lots of beautiful photos, and wants to go back again and again! 😉
