My Food Review: Asteria Mui Ne!

Okay, let's talk about food, guys! This is super important, so I'm dedicating a whole section to it.

Buffet Spreads

If you go for the full package with 5 meals included, you'll get 3 buffet meals at the resort. If you're not too fussy about your meals, these 3 buffets will be just nice – enough to fill you up and you don't have to stress about where to eat. Why only just nice?

  • Drinks: Quite impressive with a good selection. Check out the pictures and videos! They even have red and white wine for dinner. I didn't try it and I'm not really a wine person, but it felt a bit more special than other 4-star resorts.
  • Main Dishes: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner had things like beef stew, fried chicken with fish sauce, soup, gravy, rice, fried rice, porridge, stir-fried/boiled veggies, fried noodles, sausages, cold cuts, all kinds of eggs, roasted duck/pork, banh hoi (vermicelli sheets), spring rolls, banh uot (steamed rice paper rolls), Vietnamese sausage, steamed cassava… The usual suspects, you know? There were other dishes I can't quite remember, but nothing too out of the ordinary – no seafood or anything super special.
  • Desserts: In the mornings, the yogurt was really delicious. They had waffles with chocolate sauce, freshly made and nice and soft. The usual pastries like croissants, muffins, chocolate cakes... standard stuff.
  • Kids Corner: They had a sweets and treats corner for the little ones with yummy gummy candies. Of course, there was also a cereal bar with milk. For fruits, they mainly had watermelon, longan, guava, and pineapple. Loads of green bananas just sitting there.

Bonus points for having kids' tableware! Hello Kitty pink for girls, blue for boys. Plates, food trays, spoons, forks, glasses – all readily available for the kids to use themselves.

Afternoon Tea and Snacks

We skipped the afternoon tea and snack breaks because one of us was busy napping and the other was busy swimming. So, can't say anything about the quality there.

Drinks All Day Long!

My favourite thing was the free drinks at the bars! The menu was extensive, and the drinks were really good, just right for my taste. At the outdoor stage in the evening, I had a Teddy Bear drink with pineapple – so yummy! My kid had a strawberry yogurt smoothie and loved it so much she finished one big glass and asked for another! We ordered drinks with every meal, and they came out fast. A little sad the restaurant by the pool wasn't open yet when I was there. Hopefully, next time I can swim and get drinks at the same time!

Improvements?

One thing I suggested to the resort was to add more kid-friendly options like pizza, french fries, pasta, and ice cream. Hopefully, they'll improve the food selection, make it more varied and tastier. Maybe have seafood specials on the weekends!

P.S. 1: The pre-made coffee with milk at breakfast was terrible! Best to make your own. I was lazy and tried it – oh my god, it was awful.

P.S. 2: I hope people book rooms through my referral link, but I'm not just going to praise everything blindly. Reviews have to be honest. If something's good, I'll say it. If something's not so good, I'll share it so people can make informed decisions before spending their money. Holidays should be enjoyable!
