KTM Komuter is a commuter rail service brand in Malaysia operated by KTM. It was introduced in 1995 to provide local rail services in Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding suburban areas in the Klang Valley/Greater Kuala Lumpur. The service was then introduced in the northern Peninsular Malaysia states of Perak, Pulau Pinang, Kedah and Perlis in September 2015 after the completion of the Ipoh-Padang Besar Electrification and Double-Tracking Project.
The KTM ETS, commercially known as ETS, short for Electric Train Service, is an inter-city rail passenger service in Malaysia operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) Berhad using electric multiple-unit (EMU) trains with the line length of 952 kilometres (755 km Padang Besar-Gemas currently operating, 197 km Gemas-Johor Bahru Central under construction).
The KTM ETS is the second electric train service to be operated by the Malaysian railway company, after the KTM Komuter service, and the second inter-city rail service, after KTM Intercity.
